ICT Participates in T.H.E. Conference

The 94th annual Transportation and Highway Engineering (THE) conference convened at the Illini Union on the UIUC campus on February 26-27, 2008. This year's conference attracted a record attendance of approximately 950 attendees. ICT Investigator William Buttlar served as Chairperson of the conference.

On the first evening of the conference, the attendees enjoyed an exhibit/mixer/buffet dinner in the Illini Union Ballroom. This event was a huge success with approximately 400 attendees, 13 of which went home as the lucky winners of door prizes. The ICT participated in the exhibitor portion of this event.

On the following morning, ICT Director Imad Al-Qadi gave the opening presentation and introduced the ICT and its research to the attendees. Following this introduction, one of ICT's Investigators, William (Bill) Vavrik, discussed his ICT project "Rolling Lane Closures" (R27-32). Both Imad and Bill encouraged attendees to submit ideas for future ICT research by filling out the Proposed Research Idea form which is due by March 7.
